after having a 306 where the bonnet stays up on its own, ive just dropped this bonnet on me head lol, and whats worse, people see me do it.

I bought a gas strut which arrived today for this exact problem. I've had BMW and vauxhalls before this - i even did the mod to my celica!

hahaha what a fail.

i think you can get struts that keep the bonnet up without the weird bar thing, i may be wrong though.

where did you get the stuff from to do this and how much did it cost you?
i wouldnt mind getting these for mine Smile

one thing i really miss from my s***ty old 106, was its best feature, as you needed to get to the engine quite regulary

Let em see if it works first after my clutch is sorted in a coupl of days and I'll let you all in on the HOW TO!!!

I think the strut I have might be too long so will get the right parts working first. Will involve drillig one hole in under side of bonnet. Did it on the celica and it worked a treat.

If you do not try you will NEVER succeed!

I'm also interested. I was working on my filter the other day, and went indoors to get a different screwdriver. Just after I went in, the wind caught it and SLAMMED it shut.

Would have taken my arm off if I had still been there.

cant ya just nip toi scrappy and pinch some from the rear of a car, surley its just a matter of measuring it up right?
BUT if anyone gets hit in the chin opening it, its not my fault lol

thats the basics but i will put the measurements and parts up as to need the domes too.
