I have just done the head gasket on my 206 1.4(ac) and now the coolant temp guage wont work?? i have checked the plugs and the 2 on the thermostat area are pluged in, top hose get hot so i think the thermostat is opening, anyone got any ideas???

Sounds like an air lock to me. Did you bleed the system?

there is coolant coming out the bleed screw at the bulk head hose, top rad hose gets hot so there is coolant there, if it was an air lock would the temp not work sometimes then stop again??

There are 2 other bleed screws if I remember rightly? On on the thermostat housing and I can't remember the other, been a while since I had a 206 in bits.

I am going to have a play about with this today then go buy a sensor if i get no where, how to i test if the fan is working do i just disconect the ac sensor ???

Unplugging the coolant temp sensor normally kicks the fan in and your needle hit the red as it loses signal

ok missed a plug the one at the side of the head, gauge works now, next problem the hose at the bottom of the filler bottle blew off when i was bringing upto temp
