managed to scrape my wing mirror on a wall so was wonderind if it is possible to just replace the main body and not the mirror ect?

Turn the mirror glass so it faces the car, unclip the two metal things that hold the glass on. Then the internals are all T15 screws I think, be very careful as the plastic is brittle and it snaps easy. On the underside of the mirror casing, there is also a couple of screws.

could this be done with a gti wing mirror casing replacing a 180 one? because my wing mirror is fine and so are the elctronics its just a stupid bracket that has snapped and a gti wing mirror is almost 100 cheaper!
