Had the Pug a fortnight now and had a knocking when going over rough ground. If I go over a speed bump everythings ok but if I hit several potholes I can hear a knocking. I had a new drivers side spring fitted a few days ago and the problems still there. The drop link looked ok at the time.

My question is although the drop link looked ok could this be worn? If not this any other ideas?

Cheers

Paul

Are any of those parts tricky to diagnose. Only reason I ask was that I bought the car a dealer and had loads of problems and wasn't happy with the MOT so I had the car inspected by VOSA. They checked all the suspension and only found the broken spring. Could any of those be missed or hard to detect?

Thanks

I was told it had one but still waiting for the paperwork. The garage are the most unhelpful set of people. They don't want to know. Everything I'm spending will be pursued through the small claims court. VOSA said the car was unroadworthy and the MOT was only done the day before I bought it. The MOT garage have been prosecuted by VOSA and trading standards are also prosecuting the garage I bought the car from.

grab the drop link and try and twist it. Bet it moves.

Also while youre there, jack it up, grab the wheel at both sides and see if there's any play there.

Tried the twist of the drop link and it moves. I'll pick a couple up tomorrow from Andrew Page and hopefully get them fitted tomorrow afternoon.

It could be but mine crashes over bumps as well compared to smaller engined 206's. So far i've put it down to the car having stiffer suspension because of the engine size. Drop links is normally just an annoying clunking / knocking sound.

Drop links are a common wear item on 206's according to Autodata.
