May sound stupid but as its so easy to take off and put back on is it worth having to tell them straight away , thinking about getting a chip its a c.r says designed for peugeot 2.0 hdi got pug lion on it. How much more would insurance go up has anyone not bothered to let them know as it will go up alot. Its only £68 meana be £150 get 90 to 115bhp not massive difference i know but still.Just seen a video on youtube french boy showing you how to do it is easy and quick to fit it

you cannot chip it but you can remap it and its very hard for a insurence company to trace it and i dont think they would even bother on your car if anything happend

you mean no way to put a chip box on it and not letting them know ??i mean just the plug and play ones too risky ? thought could do then take it off if something happened sounds mad but got me thinking

you can get a tuning box that connects to the fuel rail. Adds power but I recommend a remap due to having power throughout. I know this because I have a tuning box and I'm gonna get a map to replace it

thats exactly what i mean soz for not being clear a tuning box plug and play to common rail but also will it harm engine in any way ?? is it much better power and on fuel ? must be worth £60 what you mean having power throughout ?

A tuning box gives the ECU a false reading to make it think its giving less fuel than it actually is, so the amount of fuel is increased thus more power.

I didn't know I had one on my 206 until recently as it was tucked well behind the battery. Should be safe enough but still save for the remap, shouldn't be much difference pricewise depending on the turning box. Also a remap should give more power

remap is harder to detect though. And has a more distributed torque curve I think
