Hiya everyone,
I've been a member of this forum for the last 2 or so years and never got round to posting my little 5 door tractor's development. I have recently purchased a Toyota MR2 Mk2 for as a project but as my little pug is my first car i feel somewhat attached to it and feel the need to keep it going and looking fresh.
It all started with a standard black 1.4hdi lx 5 door, which i instantly put some alloys on. Which were at set of 17"x7" Wolfrace Prostreets, black with polished face.
[img] [/img]
Then upgraded the headunit to an Alpine IDA-X001 media reciever and brought the ipod cable which came from the back of the stereo out into the glovebox. I also sprayed the interior trim silver.
[img] [/img]
My next job was to de badge the car which i did when i installed the new rear lights. I also hacksawed of the floppy exhaust tip bought a cheap little exhaust trim.
[img] [/img]
Then i got some black angel eyes, arch extension and RGM bonnet scoops
I decided i wanted to upgrade the sound system and do a tidy boot build so i spent a small wod and this lot arrived
[img] [/img]
i must admit i really enjoyed installing all the sound but i dont want to do it again any time soon lol. The finished boot build basically involv a false floor which raised the floor of the boot by 2 inches. I created 3 areas, 2 for the amps and one for the sub woofer. This was where beign an engineer that works on CAD all day comes in handy allowing me to ensure the subwoofer took as little of my boot space up as possible but still had the correct volume of air beneath it.

[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
With the boot build done and decent amount of cash spent it wasn't long before i spent more than i had on a SPAX VSX 40mm drop suspension kit, which was a much needed modification to get rid of that horrible gap between the wheel and arches.
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
On one sunny day getting the barbecue equipment preped i noticed a spare rattle can of red so i spray my engine rocker cover, battery and fuse box covers.
[img] [/img]
and after a change of alloys to a set of 17"x7" Dezent Type V black with polished front, (i know there isn't that much difference but i felt the need as i had spend my first couple of months driving constantly finding the curb) my car has spend the last year ish looking like this:
[img] [/img]
Somewhere in there i got a GTI spoiler, gear knob and leather steering wheel, a sportex 4" oval backbox which required a section chopping out and it welding back together and a K&N panel filter
over the last 6 months or so as all my mates have been investing in leon FR's, astra GSI's and corsa VXR's and my steady 1.4Hdi hadn't been running right for ages and costing me a fortune i fell out of love with it and was so very close to selling it for what i could and moving on but then after having nearly every component replaced it's running smooth and the love has been restored lol.
As spring approaches I have plans on going for a euro look with a GTI front bumper and a GT rear bumper in the shed I'm planning on getting them on, getting a debadged front grill and getting the poor thing slammed on some appropriate 15" euro wheels. I'm also going to get a tunning box and de-cat it just for a smidge extra poke for not very many pounds.
Cheers for reading and i will update as i start the pugs new direction soon. Any comments good or bad (not to bad though please lol) welcome and any tips on my futre plans would be a great help.

Cheers for the comments so far, nice to know other people think it looks ok.
Thankyou for the invitation to join team 5 door but how do I do this?
As for the MR2, it is a white, 1992, rev 1, N/A, T-bar (which doesn't leak lol)
So far i have:
restored the seats,
new double din pioneer 3200-dvd touch screen head unit
omp corsica 350mm steering wheel (only because there is no airbag)
K&N appollo induction kit (sounds like thunder)
lexus IS200 17" 5 spoke alloys
[img] [/img]
This is the only picture i have at the moment, the rest are on my camera at work, i will add some more when i get it back.

Yes i am and the MR2 owners club. With them being around for 20 years or so there is loads of information and nearly every variation of mod has been done. whats your user name on imoc?, you have any pics of your mr2 on there?
I think i got lucky with a non leaky t-bar but one of the back windows has been replaced badly and you can pour a watering can straight through the gap at the top lol.

Nice one, I'm not on the o.c but do have a browse every now and then. Like you say loads of info. User name on there is Dan89 and there are some pics of my car in my intro thread, how it was when I got it and now lol. What's yours??
Yeah I know what you mean, although mine will be non leaky by next winter, completely redoing the car over, full respray, removing all the rust and brand new seals. Then wheels, brakes, exhaust, headlights before dropping a V6 lump in next year

my user name is the same as on here "wilki23" haven't got round to putting anything on imoc yet but i will be. V6 wish i had the luxery to get insured on something with a V6 in lol. The sound like god has arrived when they get a V6 dropped in them. Mines more of a restoration really with a couple of more modern upgrades.
I am planning to put a blueflame exhaust on and lower it by 25 or 30mm and get the brakes upgraded to bigger ones as the rev 1 only has weeny ones.
