Green Cotton panel filter, performance HT leads, decent spark plugs, new rotor arm and dizzy cap, high grade oil, K&N oil filter, EBC Green Stuff brake pads, new discs and brake fluid, new soft compound tyres, lose the back seats and any excess weight.

That should set you in good stead with just service parts.

accidently drop a 1.6 8 valve in urs, everything will be standard just the engine size has increased :D!!

serious note: all of the above to be fair, try to make it as light as possible and get your start off to a tee.

could also look at taking the restictive part of the airbox off, the part that goes up and over the wheel arch, and putting a small pipe on the bottom of the airbox. might give u a little gain.

He is right. I took that pipe away and ran a plasic pipe to the corner of my bumper over the ledge of the wheel arch, it does give a noticable improvment, cost me £5 for the pipe from B&q. You will need flexi pipe too though for the bend. Don't put it to the front of the bumper though as it just causes over-pressure and makes the fuel run lean. Cotton pannel filter needs to be included with the service. they are only like 30 quid.

I would also lower your tyre pressures a bit

why lower the tyre pressure, thts just going to make the tyrs a bit more flat and mean there will be more resistnace. you want to up them a bit if anythinmg as there will be slightly less friction on the road which will help out Smile
