No not really, opinions differ on filters, some people think (including me) that open filters make you lose power if anything, they juat make a cool noise lol, pannel filters are meant to let the engine breath better but there is no real performance gain.

Yarr
Open cone filter or pipercross viper enclosed type or just take the air cleaner off, that gives you the most noise.

For sound you could get an induction kit but you'll lose power.

panel filter is better, but you wont get the sound.
ive always found that when fitting induction kits like the cone filter above they do more harm then good. ok you get the sound, but it upsets the engine, increases fuel usage etc. plus insurance will go up when you declare it. (which you must do or your uninsured technically)
its really not worth it for the sound lol. plus on a 1.1 it will be all mo-peddy anyway if you know what i mean haha

Drill holes in your airbox and fit some old tights around the top...

Doesnt make enough difference for it to be worth it though,
Its very simple, if you want noise get a cone filter if you want something that will potentially help the car get a panel filter.
Its a 1.1 you're never going to get any decent power gains out of it, so either buy a cone filter or leave it alone.

Even though your car is a 1.1 mate id still go ahead and get one as they are a grat investment and last upto 100k miles! and for the money its damn well worth it, also you will notice a slight increase in response from the car and its doing your car a lot of good compared to the old filter
I had a 1.1 you see and i bought one for mine, great investment
