so, as titled, there is a very loud ticking noise ( almost sounds diesel ), atleast there was for about 20 minutes after i took the 180 for a lap around the local '' track ''. as you can image, fast gear shifts, high revs, ect ect ect. then almost asif by magic it stopped ticking loudly.
( the track is a privately owned run way, by a friend whos parents run a parashooting experiance )
my first impressions - cam belt ?
any ideas guys ?

did it only happen when cold start and only at idle speed?

nope, it was after i kained it down the runway, then kept the car running and pulled up, it was still doing it when it was moving. its stopped now, car seems fine.

The exhaust cooling down? Mine makes a loud tick when the exhaust starts to cool!

This was coming from engin bay mate, sounded like cam belt ticking

mine does this too. its like "tick tick tick tick tick" then suddenly stops, have no idea whats causing it

On yours it will most likely be the small brown valve hidden under the bonnet behind the left hand end of the engine near the inlet manifold, directly in front of the driver, its pretty well hidden.

Something to do with the emissions system, there cheap enough to replace if it is the cause of your problems.

you mean the car? yeh shes just below the max line, has been since teh oil change. doesnt use a drop
