Ok, so we had to go to B&Q, my two nephews and I. Before getting to the car, one nephew shouts out "shotgun front seat!". Apparently this is teenager speak for, "bagseying" it. Unfortunately for the little nipper, he didn't realise that my front passenger seat is in fact broken, or at least there's something wrong with it I can't seem to find the solution to: it won't lock into place. So the poor lad spent the best side of 45 minutes lying on his back, facing the inside of the roof of the car. His brother found it hilarious. Well, it was kind-of funny at the time!

So on to my question: the seats in a 206 are a nightmare to position. The back of my driver's seat is almost impossible to adjust; where it ends up seems to be entirely random, and it can take 20 minutes or more to actually get it to lock in place. So far I've been unable to get the passenger seat back to lock into place at all. They are both ok on the runners, backwards and forwards. I now have to put a printed A4 sheet on the driver seat to remind the Polish car-wash guy not to flip it to get into the back, because it'll take me half an hour to get it back into position.

Does anyone have any handy tips on what to do about this? Is there something important I'm missing here about how these things work?

Push it forward to adjust the seat position

Push it backwards to flip forward

Seat adjuster may be broke?

I don't know. I just sat in it and pushed the levers forwards. It won't lock into place. I push them back too, same thing. They just don't want to lock.

Honestly, I'm old enough to know bagsey, so that means I'm older than 35.

Anyway, the long and the short of it is pulling the leavers back to "adjust" doesn't keep it in place when the lever is released and neither does pushing it forwards.

I had a similar problem with my seats when I first got the 206, I couldn't get the front seat to lock in place without driving then suddenly braking lol. Turns out I just needed to push the seat back all the way for it to lock then it was ok

Ok, I'll try that Jay, but it isn't the moving backwards and forwards - it locks on that axis, it's the flipping the seat back/forwards thingy that doesn't lock.

I'm pretty sure if I took the seat out I wouldn't be able to put it back in again. I'm the kind-of guy who can just about manage to change a light bulb.
