Hi all,
Had a problem with my seat on here a while back and found everyone really helpful so I thought i'd come back for some more advise.
I have a Peugeot 206 1.4 Quiksilver 52 plate. I've had no problems with it at all apart from the ocasional dodgey start in the winter where it's cut out when I first start the car in the really cold weather.
However, yesterday as my servicing miles hit "0", coincidently, i went to start my car (after having no previous problems) and it didnt start. It turns over rather healthily (suggesting this doenst really look like a battery fault, no?) and then doesnt spark up!! Eventually, i decided to put the car in neutral, handbreak down, get the car rolling and then turn the key. THAT WORKS! When I stop the car now, I turn the ignition off and then turn the key and it works. So this could perhaps be a problem where the car is cold.
HOWEVER (again) - saying that, i took a trip to the shop where the drive is 15 mins. and then came out of the shop 5 mins later to find this problem. At that point the car will be a bit warm still.
Really hoping this isnt anything serious. Please help, I'm a complete beginner when it comes to cars.
Thank you in advance.
p.s. yes i have petrol. a full to the brim tank!

sounds similar to a problem i had, in the end it turned out to be a dodgy earth connection
the car wouldn't start up from cold because the battery was discharging and not holding enough charge to start up the starter motor, could be worth checking the battery and earths before you spent loads on other things

From the neg battery terminal down to the top of the gearbox, then it loops off from there & bolts on to the body of the car

just gone out to check these things... and guess what? the car started first time. unbelievable. it's an intermittent problem. I might take it into a garage and get the fault codes so i know what's going on. i'll let you all know what the result/fix is when it's sorted.
thanks for all the help

52 plate should have the better main earth lead already fitted
