Hi, I bought some morette head lights but the dipped beam wont work. There is a yellow cable with a flat spade connector but no where for this to plug in. Can anyone help?? half way through and its dark out
These are H7 ones with the H1 main beam.

Sounds like you haven't grounded the earth wire. Until you do you'll not be able to use the dipped beam.

Yeh as G said that the earth, you need to make some wiring to connect to that spade connector and reach an earth point like the top screw that bolts onto the body.

So although it's yellow it's actually the earth connector? And the live is already wired in?
I'll get some pics up later when I've put the old one back on and got home.
I started with the passengers side. There are two large plugs that come off the old headlight and only the grey one fits onto the morette. The other black connector has know here to go. I assume this is for the light adjustment that isn't on the new unit.
God I wish these came with fitting instructions.
On a plus note I have my phase two rear lights and they look peach!

OMG, DJ you are some kind of legend. To be fair I could have done with the guide before starting to remove bits of body work with a mixture of guess work and brute strength. (only broke two clips tho which i can repair)
The wiring diagram has been invaluable. Although all i need to know now what do with the black motor control connector. that goes on the original light but not the new one.

Remove the electronic adjuster from your old lights and put them into the morettes and then black connector can plug into it

yeh, set the adjuster so it makes the lights face down as much as possible then turn it the relevant way until it sort of unclips. Then you need to angle it so the ball on the end can be set free but need to be careful not to break it.

No entirely sure where to start with that or where I would connect the unit onto the morette at all. Maybe I'd have more of an idea if it was infront of me. The morette mada a wiring noise like it was adjusting when I first turned the lights on.

On the morette there is a circle hole under the middle optic at the back. It goes in there are the ball from the adjuster slips into the rectangle black plastic you see through the hole.

You know what, now you have said that, its ringing a bell. You've been a great help mate. Virtual beer tokens for you. I'll see how I get on tmoz. Not trying it again in the dark. Off work the rest of the week so plenty of time to get it 100% hopefully.
