I've had the Hdi a few weeks now and i've recently noticed that when ever i come off the accelerator, I get a hiss sort of noise.
It pretty much sounds like a dump valve, but im certain there isn't one, still need to look.
Is it more likely to be a split pipe? It does seem to labour in 3rd gear, around 3.5k.
Which pipe is it most likely to be if it is a split?

if you suspect is a split pipe you better check all the pipe work.....
and should have less power after 1.5K rev, not just after 3.5K
but it is normal to have little power around 3.5K because peak torque came in at about 2K

i agree, the waste gate will be well on its way to being open by 3.5k and as seabook says torque will be on the downward slope by then.
A hiss coming off the gas would to me mean that waste gate is already fully open but check all the pipes before going down that route
