Ive always had a clunky gearbox and it some times comes out of gear, yesterday it came out of gear it didnt make the usual grinding sound but a more smooth whirring sound. I put it back in gear and thought no more of it

This morning with the windows open i noticed when i slowly lift the clutch up it makes a ticking noise once and i can feel it on the pedal. Its only done 20,000 miles and not very many miles under my meticulous care, could some one suggest what is about to cause me problems here?
Cheers

Keeping my eye on this. Mine is similar, if clutch is dis-engaged it sounds normal. As soon as the clutch is lifted up (not in gear) it seems to tick/vibrate.
