Hopefully someone on here can assist with this as I am now v puzzled..

I previously had an aftermarket head unit in my 206 (1999 1.1). About 3 months ago it was stolen.. So I have now got round to replacing it.

Installed the new head unit and nothing.. Dead. Noticed that the fuse for what should be the battery feed of the radio (F24B) had blown so replaced this and it became up and running (with the key in and turned onto battery).

Now the previous head unit needed the battery/ignition wires swapping round (as does the new head unit) for the memory - however... I have now realised that the car no longer has a permanent live feed. BOTH wires from the car only become live when the car is turned onto battery with the key in. So every time i turn off all settings are lost.

It work flawlessly previously so I know I have had a permanent feed in the past- It also can't be a dead wire from the car either the fact that it becomes live just like the ignition feed. I've checked all other fuses and they all appear fine. I've also replaced the fuse for the ignition radio feed (F24A) just in case and still nothing.

I've had a tester on the wires and not a single on is live when the key is out- I know an alternative solution would be to take a feed from the cig lighter but i'd rather not if I don't have to as I know that one of these wires should be a permanent live.

Clock, cig lighter, internal lights all work fine. Any suggestions at all would be v appreciated!
