Hi Forum.
In need of some advice please.
My daughter’s month old 2003 206 2.0 HDi is worrying me (And her).
A second or two after starting, the “Antilpollution fault” warning comes on for about a second and then goes out. Along with this, the engine light is showing continuously. Also noticed that the glow-plug illumination doesn’t show (maybe only comes on below certain temp??)
Even with these faults, it starts and drives faultlessly, never hesitates, runs smooth and at the correct temperature.
Anything to worry about do you think?

The first thing to try is giving it a good run at 50-60mph in 3rd gear to clear out the exhaust system, sometimes it just gets a bit sooted/blocked up.

dont worry about the glowplug warning, unless its really really cold , i rarely see mine.
maybe someone else can comment on the anti pollution message, touch wood, i havent encountered this....yet.

With the EML light, surely you need to take it somewhere and get the codes read?

True, but if it is just sooted up you'll be wasting money.

Could be anything or nothing  came on when my iair intake pipe unclipped itself at the back of the engine lol just check all the pipes etc  and the glowplug light rarely comes on, usually only if its really really cold

Also keep an eye on the temperature gauge as they are all going at the minute, if this happens then you need to change the temp sensor (green one)

my 207 is doing exactly the same as that right now its in peugeot as under warranty, ive reserched alot on it and ushaly comes down to lamba sensors and a new fuel pump, just do as cd-vrs said, run it at 50-60mph in 3rd gear for atleast 15minutes. if it cuts the engine out then leave it off for 5 minutes and start it up but set off slowly and build upto 60mph, if its wont go over 40mph shes gone into limp mode and might need the ECU to be read to pinpoint the fault

Thanks for all the replies.
I'll have chance to give it a good burn off over the weekend when she's home with the car, and hopefully be lucky. I'll report back on how it went.
Don't want to rush to Peugeot stealer to have code read except as last option ,as I've heard of them getting it wrong and customer buying new bits which still didn't cure it.
At least I'm assured about not seeing the Glow-plug light,javascript:emoticon('post',%20'message',%20':P')

mine just got fixed, anti pollution fault was up and kept getting cleared but everytime it came back it was like the car tried to limp(no power) then ran normal new EGR valve today and problem solved.... i hope

Update.
Not always recommended I know. But speaking in my local (pub) on Thursday evening about the 206's issues, and the very friendly mechanic said to bring it over early this morning and he'd hook it up FOC to read faults.
Apparently there was a code 221 ?? throttle positioner ??. He cleared that, and no "Antipollution Fault" or engine light anymore.
He did say that it maybe a good idea to put a full Redex diesel additive in with the diesel next time she fills up to help stop it coming back.
Guess that's a few pints I owe him.
