It's a genius ploy by the government, Libya produces very little on the global stage, as is stated on the CIA website and was discussed at the beginning of the imaginary crisis. All this scaremongering just paves the way to keep the prices high after all this rubbish about Libya dies down and allow the government to implement a 'fuel stabilisation policy' when fuel is at it's highest price! A bit like British Gas did with the 'fixed energy prices' when Gas was at its highest price and they new a new reserve was due online.
I'm not happy with the 'get over it and stop moaning' comments. Does this person have no backbone what so ever? what a discrace, don't you ever called yourself British again! If there was nothing that could be done i would agree, find alternatives, however lets not forget the government take most of 130p i paid for fuel this morning, not BP and certainly not Libya! Things can be done if the inhabitants of this Island would stick together and stop being selfish. The egyptions have overthrone a government they weren't happy with, the Libyans are in the process of doing it and we the 'GREAT' British public, daren't have a protest over fuel prices because it would interfere too much with our lives! what a joke we all really are!

I think there is far better ways to be british than wanting to overthrow the government and calling its inhabitants a 'joke'..
I love this country, i am infact on the waiting list to join the Navy, to possibly fight for this country! dont question how patriotic i am because i agree with the reasoning behind an increase in petrol prices. it just demonstrates your own stupidity.

It's ok for people that are able to get on a bike to work but what about the self employed people that NEED a van for work etc, I pay about 800 a MONTH just for diesel, that's ridiculous. You may say drive sensibly but when you have over 100 deliveries and collections per day that's not always possible.

thats fair enough, ill be honest that didnt cross my mind, in cases like that then i think it is reasonable to talk to an MP and raise the issue, protest etc to get some sort of red diesel permit or something put through??

To top it all off, northgate who I hire my van off because I havnt bought a van yet have whacked up there prices another 5%, fantastic

Fuel is not a luxury now a days, people live in areas where bikes, walking, public transport is not an option and public transport costs more than that running your own vehicle. The car is now an essential part of life, there for should be excluded vat. At the end of the day, this is a democracy and were sitting back being dictated!
The Americans protested when their gov tried to put a duty on fuel. We are the only country who just let the p**s been taken out of us!

It's not just about libya, that's just another factor. As for overthrowing governments, we have the chance at least every 4 years without having a blood bath. But your right, as a nation when it comes to protesting over real issues, we are a bunch of p***ies.

As far as i see it how can the likes of usa and the rest of world manage to have there prices relitivly low, why carnt we stick a limmit of £1 a liter, I dont think people would have a problem with that and people will be more inclined to use there cars and there for goverent get more money.

At what point did i say 'lets overthrow the government', don't be so ridiculous and dramatic. My point was millions of people are willing to do just that in other countries however we, in the civilised world, won't even have a peaceful protest about a matter that is crippling families and businesses across the country. We sit on websites like this telling each other 'there's nothing we can do, they won't listen to us, i'm busy that weekend..sorry' well i think it's a joke and until people start protesting, and i'm not talking about rioting in the streets but doing it the diplomatic way, nothing will change because no one is making it change! Just to make myself clear, i'm not insighting violence, coups or anything that could give rise to anarchy. All i want is for people to be treat fairly and rewarded justly for their efforts for society.

Yes let's put ideas together April 29th is the ideal date I think, and if we could cause some form of disruption to the royal wedding that would get the medias attention.
The reason why bringing the m25 to a hault was brought up was because no riots would emerge, as everyone would have their vehicle, the police aren't going to use force due to if any damage is caused then that's an insurance claim to them and there will be alot of people travelling into London that day for the wedding.
