Hi all,

I am not longer selling my car as I had a few problems tonight and well it isn't right for selling at the minute.

Basically squeak from the engine bay when the car is idle which from what I have read this tends to be the aux/fan belt and might need tightening but cannot find a guide for this anywhere.

I know what it all looks like etc but I don't know what to do to tighten it and could really do with a diagram or photo to help.

All the forums I find from google bring back the same answers but none of them actually give a guide.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
James

you can NOT tighten the belt by yourself,it got a self tensioner that tighten the belt when you start the car,so if your belt is lose, then you need a new tensioner.

Or maybe your belt is worn out, which make it longer with use and the tension it had with time,so a new belt whic is not that expensive, and you car will be back fine.

So I recommend that you change the Belt+tensioner+outside reels which the belt move on them.

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies.

How much roughly are those bits likely to cost is it something that could be achieved on the drive way instead of the garage?

Thanks again
James

Could anyone point me in the right direction of a link to a guide with possible images?

Again thank you for the help.

I didn't know whether maybe some could scan the couple of pages out of the Haynes manual?

Thanks
