hi all i have a project 1.4 16v 3 door thats been stood for the last few years after finaly sorting morealess everything out i decided to take her for a quick test to make sure everything was working and discoverd i have a knocking from the front o/s mostly when turning. it doesnt matter if iam stationary or driving. i thought it may have been the drop link rods so replaced both for new but to no avail. what else could it be ?? any advice is greatly appreciated. thank you in advance

Topmount bearings or / and top mount it self is a posability

That's what were are here for, the top mounts are when you open the bonnet there is one either side of the engine bay the top of the suspension unit.
You might want to hold your car wheel on each side and rock it side to side ans top to bottom to see if there is any play in the suspension components.

so basically i gotta have the whole suspension leg off to replace the top mounts ? i do have the spring compressor kit etc so whouldnt be a problem but while doing this is there anything else i should be looking out for or replacing while doing the top mount ?and i presume its the ones under the plastic covers

Yes you do have to take it out to have a look.
Search eBay for 206 top mount there will be some pics of one (I'm on my phone else I would have got some links fir you)
There is a bearing that goes between the rubber topmount and spring seat,
Also check condition on the spring, make sure it is not snapped or not sitting right. And Check for play in the bottom ball joint befor taking it apart that can knock too if worn .
