OK, hiya,
My a/c sounds relatively like this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qnfkqPD9Ds
Is that what it's meant to sound like? I don't read French so not sure what the video says lol.
I'll do a sound recording tomorrow if I remember and post it here, or if somebody could do theirs/have a video already that I could compare mine to that'd be awesome.
ta guys.
p.s. sounds like a stupid question lol

When mine had gas it sounded more like when you only had the vents on before the A/C.
When the A/C was tuned on it would sounded like a gas cylinder being opened (short hiss) for a few seconds then be quiet. I have never heard that sound but it may be due to the level of recording.
Ask your local garage to have a listen
