Well i took it for a long drive and please to report the coolant level stayed exactly the same. No leaks and the coolant smell seems to have disappeared... so hopefully it has sorted out. Will keep an eye on the levels next few days to see whats what.

if there is a leak just look at the floor.....\
nothing there = no leak!
