Could be a bearing in the gearbox on the way out.

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

Maby, it changes, I know mines got a bearing on the way out, and it groans anytime whilst its turning but it goes as soon as i get on the accelerator.

New gearbox......unlucky.
This 206 IS going on a trackday despite it's every effort to stay at home in the garage!

Unlikely if it's only on lift off. I had the same noise with a Stilo i had. If you kept the power on, even just a slight amount it was fine, take the throttle off and it would rumble. Very similar noise to a failed release bearing. But obviously under different conditions.

Yep had this on my old car. Picked up a low mileage gearbox from a breaker for £100.
