Hi All,
three weeks ago i was driving home and noticed that when i stopped at the traffic lights my engine seemed to rev at around 1000+ then it would settle down after around 30 seconds then i noticed whilst the revs were up the temp gauge stopped working. 
this has continued to happen everyday.
when i drive the car has a slight drawback for a second then the temp gauge goes dead but the car drives ok then it will come back and show the temp again
any ideas?

sorted it was the temp sensor it controls both the mixture and the engine temp £22 fix
