The engine management can run indipendently of the rest of the car. As with yours you only run the sensors and injection from the aftermarket ECU. I will check with Dave at Emerald here but I dont see any major drama with this.

I understand why Sandy might not want to tackle the car especially if the way the multiplexing works is an unknown - with him being left with the problem...
How big a job would it be to strip out the multiplex stuff? The climate control and clocks might need to be swopped for pre -plexed bits and swop the loom...in fact I've decided it would be a big job because no dount it extends to the ABS/ESP systems etc...

What difference would the supercharging make? Surely the same problems would exist with that route?

No. Superchargering or turbocharging on 180 simple than ITB installation. Because you dont have to convert DBW to mechanical one. Simple install AEM FI/C like piggyback or paralel installation on standalone ecu. Stock ecu can control VVT and DBW system. You still use stock dash, clock, climate, esp, airbag. Just problem is TripComputer show wrong consumption value.

IIRC The problem that arose was the issues with the dash and speedo etc not working.

Had a good time at Trax, however didn't enjoy my earlier track session in the rain, there were accidents everywhere and I didn't feel the tracktime was as safe as at FCS. There were far too many "wannabe heroes" trying to prove themselves and many were very dangerous.
The car managed a 0-62 time of 6.95 this year, however I feel it could have been a lot quicker as I caused a lot of wheelspin in 1st gear and it took ages to get traction, maybe because it was slightly raining?
Anyway, I'm not ready to say goodbye to her, hopefully someone will appreciate how good she is and buy her soon!

a few years ago I went on a 'Land Rover safari' [organised by Land Rover] at Hagley Hall in Stourbridge, West Mids. Driving through woods, through pools, over fallen trees in a £50k Rangerover was immense fun!
They had the whole range of models to drive too. It was free too Twisted Evil

From memory Land Rover also do a 'team building'-type adventure day Very Happy

Lol we don't pay when we go, just jump in a few discos/fenders and find some mud!
The Defenders are so much better in the deep stuff than the Discos!
