Hi all,
Noticed a squeaking so took the brakes off. Had a look at the pads, and they look fine on the outer pad, but on the inner, it looks like the top (rounded) edge of the pad has been catching on the edge of the brake disks, thus eroding the top edge of the pad.
The pads I have are listed on this site here;
www.brakepartssupersto...14326.html
BPS2710 - 14326
I'm wondering if I actually need the BPS2811 - 14326 instead?
Its a 2006 1.6HDi Sport. I can measure the disks if it helps.
I've since scraped them with a suitable tool, and not noticed the squeak yet, but I bet its only a matter of time...!
Any help greatly appreciated.

The ones fitted are just performance version of them. Both are cheap s**t anyway. Fit Ferodo pads every time.
Pictures of the 'eroded' pad would help

Cheers for that, helped no end. Fitted by previous owner determined to keep costs down before selling his car no doubt.
I'll see if I can get the time to take them off again. In the meantime, you'll have to imagine!
Where those pads on that site overlap the metal plate by 2mm, the pads have been filed down by a few mills along the circumference on the top edge.
Leaves a sort of step on the pad.

Strange is it not! I thought that when I had a look at the pads myself!

Should be the 266mm x 22mm vented front disc set up on the 1.6 HDI
Just get a set of Ferodo Premier pads from your local motor factor.
What are the discs like?
If it needs discs as well then Brembo everytime

Disks look fine, no scoring or excessive wear. Might just go get some Frodos and be done with it!
