Does anybody ever drive another car then when they get in the 206 the steering feels a bit strange?
My GTi has always had quite heavy steering, even the wife didn't want to drive it because it felt really heavy to her.
I notice now that the steering seems a bit unwilling to completely self centre. All the other cars I drive have electric or electro hydraulic power steering whereas the 206 is just hydraulic.
Does anybody else notice this with their 206?

Everything is ok. Tyres wear evenly too. I think it's just a characteristic of the 206.

Electric and electro-hydraulic systems are often criticised for having an overly self-centering action.
Perhaps it's just the transition back to normal hydraulic that needs getting used to.

You are running nimrods?
Tyre size?
Might be the pump slowly passing on its way?

Sure that's just not torque steering?
The GTi180 and 1.6HDi and i think later 1.4 8v (TU3A) have variable power steering, whereas the rest just have normal. Maybe thats why it does it?

Mine doesn't fully.... it sort of goes central, but not all of the way. done it a few goes and seems to depend on the road angles etc etc...
Definately doesn't pull the steering completely back to centre though.

If it is... Does that make me cool? It does it more when I'm accelerating...

The w**ky 1.6 HDI uses an electric motor driven power steering pump located front left hand corner of the car
