I had my cambelt changed a month or so ago and at the time the guys noticed my waterpump had a slight leak. They were of the oppinion that it was lucky I was having the change so it was spotted.

Anyhow an unfortunate run of events saw me having to replace the tappets which involved cambelt removal and cam removal. When doing this the guys noticed the waterpump was leaking again. So they were straight off to get a new one under guarantee. New one fitted an looked ok but after a few mins started to leak again.

Turns out that the housing which the pump is fitted to is plastic and distorts over time, meaning I needed a new housing which pug have refined the design of and is now made of alloy not plastic.

Cost £60 and the part number from the invoice is [i'll add later as down in the car]

I thought I would mention this because if anyone is having the work done they may want to make sure their's is the new alloy type and not the older plastic type. If it wasn't for me needing everything off anyway I wouldn't have known until something failed or the leak worsened

Thanks for that mate, I too have recently had my cambelt and water pump changed and have noticed a coolant leak on the underside of the engine so could well be the same issue you had
