Following on from my last post let me give everyone an update:
Changed the head gasket because of the common oil leak, everything was fine for a couple of weeks then broke down due to a injector leak. Replaced the seals and all was fine for about 40 mins at motorway speeds then the car died and refused to start.
So far checked: timing is still ok, coil pack is ok (tested with known working one), I have fuel at the fuel rail but cant hear fuel pump. Battery is ok although the car is now in eco mode after rechecking the injectors. A friend at the local garage brought over the diagnostic machine but there are no fault codes.
It is trying to start but just no firing, anyone got any other ideas? I was thinking fuel pump or the injectors are not firing. The spark plugs were black like they were burned, i gave them a clean but still no luck.
UPDATE
I sprayed quick start into the air intake and it's starts for about a second? I am thinking injectors or coil pack. Would someone with more knowledge be able to comment? I am trying everything I can as it goes into the garage on Monday.

Would it still turn over? It locks and unlocks fine with the fob. Is there any indication of the immobilser not turning off?

It would turn over, but not fire if it's the immobiliser.
If that's the case, take the key apart and make sure the chip is still in its slot. I made that costly mistake once.....

It may be your starter motor. is it turning too slow? If its a bad motor it can drain enough power to top the coil pack getting any

Have you checked the fuses?
If your plugs were black then it's one of 3 things that have caused it.
Carbon fouled. Soft, black, sooty deposits easily identify this plug condition. This is most often caused by an over-rich, air/fuel mixture or low cylinder pressure.
Denotation Failure. This form of abnormal combustion has fractured the insulator core nose of the plug. The explosion that occurs in this situation applies extreme pressures on internal engine components. Prime causes include ignition time advanced too far, lean air/fuel mixtures, and insufficient octane rating of the petrol.
Oil Fouled. Too much oil is entering the combustion chamber. This is often caused by piston rings or cylinder walls that are badly worn. Oil may also be pulled into the chamber because of excessive clearance in the valve stem guides.A build-up of crankcase pressure which can force oil and oil vapors past the rings and valve guides into the combustion chamber can also cause this.

Just a side note, the coil pack I tried it with had a different colour connector. Mine is white and the one I tried it from was from a 1.1 not a 1.4 and it was grey. It had 2.2 something written on it and so did mine so I assumed they would be compatible.

Possibly solved, the garage has said its the fuel pump but want 220 to fit a new one. GSF wanted 82 inc VAT so I will attemp it myself.
