Can anyone help please. My immobiliser key as just stopped working. I have noticed that the red light no longer appears. Is this the battery inside the key and if it is will changing it upset anything.

Battery more than likely. I don't think changing the battery messes anything up but if it does you will just need to re-sync it with the car. To do this start the engine then press & hold the unlock button for 10 seconds to resync it.

fitted new battery this morning but locking system does not work although

LED still flash. I have tried re sync by switching on engine and pressing the unlock button for 10 seconds but still the same.

Does this mean I have a transponder problem? if so is there anywhere or anybody who can sort it out other than the peugeot dealers.

This?

1. Ensure all doors are unlocked using the key.

2. Press and HOLD the large plip key button while the LED flashes continuously for 20 seconds. After 20 seconds press the small deadlock button once while still holding the large button.

3. The LED will stop flashing.

4. Release the large button and the LED will light constantly.

5. Press the large button once and the LED will go out.

6. Open the door and hold the Plip key near the Ignition switch and press the large plip button once.

7. Turn the ignition ON, wait 10 seconds and then turn the ignition OFF.

8. After 5 seconds the Plip should now operate.

Yes I have tried this about 3 times but the LED only flashes for about 10 seconds before it goes out. I have tried the rest of the reprogramming
procedure but nothing happens. Just the LED flashes but the locking system does not work.

this happened on my dads 406, it went in for a clutch change so they had to disconnect the battery and by doing that it some how messed the central locking up, car started fine, just no locking usinf the remote fob. we tryed all the key sync things (10 secounds one and the window down one) also did BSI reboot, even got peugeot to give us the correct instructions to make sure we were doing it right. In the end took it to a car locksmith and he had to reprogrammed both keys, even he tryed the sync thing but didnt work for him either. hope this helps

ps, have you recently disconnected the battery?
