Hi guys,
I've searched but can't find anything using
'revs stalls'
'revs high stall'
So idk..
A couple of times this has happened now, I start the car, the engine revs really high and then stalls itself, without me touching anything. It's embarassing for me and it can't be good for the car I'm thinking of cleaning the ICV? Will that be it?
& Also sometimes when I'm driving, the car feels like it loses power until I put my foot on the pedal a bit further and it bursts back into life, any ideas?
Thanks guys

Sounds like the ICV give it a good clean also where it attahces to the throttle body.... May even be worth getting a new one if it loosk worn.

Yep, clean the stepper motor (ICV), and take the MAP sensor out and give it a good clean.

A MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor is a micromechanical sensor that measures the absolute pressure in the intake manifold and compares it with a reference vacuum, not with the ambient pressure. This enables the air mass to be precisely defined. |

Very technical
206info.co.uk/Forums/v.../t=72.html
Lee if I follow that guide, it says about unplugging the sensor whilst the engines running, I thought it buggers the car up if you unplug a sensor whilst the battery is connected?

Nah you can unplug sensors when the engine is running. You can unplug the coolant sensor to test the fan
