Been out in girlfriends car and when i go over 70mph i get beeping noise like when you leave the key in ignition but dont turn it.Is this just a warning to let you know you going over speed limit. When you drop back under 70 it stops.
1.1 look 2002.She never drives the car that fast just uses it for round town.,so never noticed it before. Thanks

A 206 of this age wont have a speed limiter on it.

When it beeps check there is no warning lights on the instrument cluster OR messages on the mfd, also check the interior light isnt flashing as well

Try rebooting the BSI as it sounds like the software is having a sulk.

You can have the speed warning on any mux 206. Its in the warning settings. Can remember yours was set at 255kph Laughing

Most are set to either 225 or 255 kph on everyone that I've seen unless someone's asked for it changed. I've done one before and he asked it to be changed to 130kph [roughly 80mph]

Nah mate, definitely didn't do that. Only ever changed it on one, and it was for a guy who was giving his car to his son and wanted it set to approx 80mph to try and stop him speeding on the motorway

It might be a fault or a sulking BSI. I'm just saying you can have a speed warner on any mux 206 as its in the BSI settings. So it might be because of that, and because she's never done over 70mph before, you won't have noticed.

If a speed limiter was on it, 70 would be a feasible place to have it...

Ive had BSI sulk before.

ESP warning light came on plus the com2000 started beeping - car hasnt even got ESP fitted.

Also had immobiliser refuse to disarm, BSI reboot cured it.

Not had either of those faults since I had BSI software updated.

BSI software still has the odd bug in it like sometimes the MFD backlights will stay on when the ignition is turned off so you end up with a bright orange screen in the middle of the dash Laughing
