Hi all!

Quick question.. I have recently broken down twice in the last month once due to a broken front suspension spring and then again when the front exhaust fell off.

With those items fixed, now whenever I accelerate from standstill (like at traffic lights), if it is a fast acceleration I hear a "creaking" noise from the front suspension about 50% of the time.

I cant re-produce it when someone else is in the car listening typically as it seems to be intermittent.

Wondered if 206 experts might have any idea as to the cause?

This is normal in a 206. The 'creaking' is because under acceleration the body work is actually stretching due to the immense power from the engine.

Mine is still creaking after the new suspension has been on for nearly a month. I've been told it's most likely the top mounts. Have you replaced yours?

Nope - how much are top mounts fitted roughly?

Bearings are £25ish and Top mounts are around £45. This is what a mechanic I know told me. So prices could be different where you are.

Edit - Not sure how much fitted. Shouldn't take longer than an hour though.

Cool, thanks.

I'll give it another week or so and see what happens and then get them to have another look if needs be.

Smile
