My 1.4 HDi idle seems to be extremly rough and uneven, it is even to the point that compared to my girlfriends mondeo tdci which have a notoriously bad idle. It feels like it is running on 3 and a half cylinders. There are no fault codes, it has had a full service recently, i cleaned the entire induction system and it has had a cambelt recently. There is no blue smoke or any excess smoke at all. Any ideas would be apprieciated with concern to the cause of the problem.

Might be injectors getting clogged up affecting the spray pattern, if so it would probably affect the mpg somewhat.
My 1.4 hdi runs very smoothly and ticks over like a Swiss watch.

That is what is confusing me. I have checked the MPG and it appears to be getting upwards of 70mpg
