Evening all,

Noticed today the car is down on a bit of power.

Every so often, particularly in 1st, there's a loud ticking/knocking. At higher speeds, the turbo will be fine, then i hear the tick and the power just goes, it will barely accelerate in 4th and 5th.

On idle, the knocking seems to come from the box between the turbo manifold and side radiator (intercooler?)

Also notice that there is some diesel coming out of the bleed pipe, evident by leaving a patch on the top of the engine cover.

It sounds as if there's a stone or nut moving about within this box.
It has 3 hoses coming into it, and sits near the front of the engine compartment, right next to the radiator.

Any ideas? 206 2006 1.6Hdi.

Cheers!

Hi,

No lights on and nothing to suggest any EML fault.

Revved it up and the hoses all have pressure, going from intake, through the box to turbo housing, out of turbo and beyond - they all have a pressure when its revved.

When I turn the car off, there's a definite noise (a mechanical tap) coming from the turbo itself while its spooling down.

The box i refer to is the one on the left of this picture, if you follow the hose from the turbo housing...

It had a new turbo 4 months ago if that helps.

An update...

On way home, lots of blue smoke and noise, lots of heat from turbo housing, no evident signs of oil but does smell when I open the bonnet.
Sounds like dodgy turbo to me!

In a garage Tuesday to get it looked at. Its only 4 months old, and I've only had the car that long also, if my warranty doesn;t cover it the Sale of Goods Act should.
