Hello,
I have recently replaced my speedo clocks as my MPH needle stopped working, this is now fixed however the new clocks I have, the mileage display is blank, the bulb/led doesn't appear to amit any light,
All other lights are displayed IE handbreak on, fog lights, etc. I know these are the white bulbs at the rear of the cluster but the mileage doesn't appear to have a replacable bulb.
Does anyone have any ideas, or had to replace one themselves, or know where to start.
Hope that all makes sense and appreciate any and all advice surgestions offered.
Thanks in advance
Chris

well it's not necessary to be bulbs, sometimes the same LCD of the milage gets faulty, like the data cable is faulty or the same screen, someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but check if there is bulbs first that can be replaced.(it will be a hard task)

Is your mileage display second hand ie scrapyard.
If it is i think the mileage has to be lower for it work in your car, it then programmes in to the correct mileage.
can't you just swap over the original.

You can, it just changes the mileage if it's higher (or lower if it's preplex)
Is your MFD still working?

Hi all,
Thanks for all the input it's really appreciated.
Here's the update:
I saw yesterday the mileage display is present just so faint you'd hardly see it, I found that my milage does actually have a bulb (i'm pretty sure it's the milage display bulb anyway)
I replaced the bulb with the one from my old clocks which worked fine. Still the same result, I swapped my old speedo back and oddly the milage is now having the same symptoms, very very faint almost unreadble
Previously the milage display had been find on the old clocks. Can't figure this out at all.
Anyone heard of this problem at all or can advise?
Thanks again
Chris
PS this info might be of use or it may not but thought i'd better share
When my old speedo broke it was the MPH needle. It would jump all around the place, Common fault it seems, Anyway I picked up a speedo clock from a scrappers but it was an old style 3 clock display which didn't have the rev counter.
I stuck with it knowing i'd eventually replace it. Also the 3 clock display had it's mileage stored on the clock rather than my old broken one which pulled the milage from the on board EDU chip
I don't know if this helps at all but this is the background to where i'm at currently. Thanks
