ive had my 206gti138 for a few months now and originaly it said service was in 14500 miles then about a month or more down the line it dropped down suddenly to 4500miles but today it sounded a bit rough, stunk of petrol and the service spanner gauge dropped suddenly to a mere 50miles?...........i did before the drop, put air in the tyres then checked the levels then as the throttle pedal felt a little unresponsive i pulled at the cable where it passes thru the plastic housing above the throttle body and it pulled so far then popped out further so i tried to push it back but it seemed not to find the same seating as it had before i pulled at it(dumb),so i moved the cable seat on the body to its rest position and altered the metal clip above, down a few notches-taking up the slack and it seemed fine with the pedal fully responsive again but thats when the service gauge dropped to 50miles????????? everything else seems ok so does anyone have any ideas why its now at 50mls????????????

When was the last time the service indicator was reset? I think it works on a timed interval too.

Our 1.4 HDi does that as well ... I think it needs a software update on the BSI unit .. I can't be bothered!
Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

Software fault on the service spanner, the 138 with cable throttle is well known for the cable to pop loose on the throttle body.
