Think im in the same boat as you mate, got them to make up some EKQ, and the colours a lot darker than whats on the car at the moment.

In the tub the colour looked pretty close, dont know if it just needs polishing or t-cutting or something but its not quite right on the arch and bumper. £16 thats cheap, I paid £29.99 for mine

There's always different tints to paint, and mixing will never be 100% correct.

find a local paint/bodyshop suppliers, they will mix you paint off the car, not off the paint code so it will be a perfect match

not true, mixing can be 100% correct, have to do it about 20 times a day in work
the thiong is when mixing paint, the ratios of each colour that go into the mix have to be exact, my mate used to work in halfords and said they weren't arsed about getting each colour that went into the mix exact so if you have 0.1 of a gram out on each colour and there are 5-6 colours that go into a mix then it will be out and not match

after doing it for years you know what colour to add abit more or less in the mix, they will also keep checking against the car so its perfect before putting it in a can

if anything you need to machine polish the rest of the car, not the bits you've painted

Its not just the fact halfords arent great at mixing... it depends on the weathering your car has undertaken over the years! remember paint does fade! And therefore the colour of your car is not going to be qutie the same as when it came out the factory which is what colour halfords are matching it too... They arent matching it to your weathered paint, just the paint code from peugeot
