Hi,
I have a 2005 1.4 hdi. Every once in a while, the engine management light comes on. If I then go over 3000 revs, I lose power. After a couple of days, the light then goes off and the car runs as normal.
it's not a big issue as it's still driveable below 3000 revs, just annoying. It can go for weeks before the light comes back on.
Any ideas appreciated

EML comes on for a reason get it checked.
It won't gove over 3k revs as that is 'Limp Mode'.
Tke it to a garage and get the codes read.

Had the same issue, air intake had come out behind the engine so it couldnt get enough through the maf sensor, check all along the pipe from the end upto behind the block

Cheers Tom,
It doesn't seem serious as it resets after a day or so but I will play it safe and pop it down to my local Pug dealer tomorrow

check what i said first, best to give it a once over before paying the £50 labour or whatever they will charge you lol

nahh just look along the intake pipe and look if any have come out of where they should be or if there are any splits in the pipe, you dont have to take anythin apart haha

I have had this problem twice since having my HDI. Both times it's been the air filter, easy to check, take it out and see if the problem goes away. If it does a good few taps against a wall will clear the filter sufficiently, a new one is only a few quid though.
