Hey Guys

i've had a browse through some other threads about the comms 2000 unit.

as you've probobly guessed i'm having problems with the pug. E.G.
-Headlights turning themselves on and flashing randomly
-Windscreen Wipers, Wiping Randomly
-Airbag Warning Light
-Indicators Don't Always Work (have To hold them on)
-And Now The Oil Warning Light Keeps Coming On

(When All This Happens I Can't Do Anything with the indicator or wiper stalks Confused )

when i searched for comms unit on here the threads i read only had 1 of the problems i've listed. i've got all these problems at once so have no idea if its the comms unit or not.

my dads sprayed WD40 into it to see if its iron filings that are causing the problem to see if that fixes it.

any info, ideas or fixes on why its doing this would be greatly appreciated & sorry for the essay/if someones posted these problems before Smile

Didnt some of the last 51 plates have them as well?

And as Mrs Howey says it could be a new com unit.

lol maybe he is guna split the unit to wd40 some old parts, not likely to work tbh.

I have just got a comm unit for mine which im yet to fix, i also have my old one from previous car for sale, which i only swapped so i could get trip computer etc.

If yours is a povety spec, ie no auto lights or wipers and no trip computer then i have the comm unit for you Very Happy

Save you loads fitting it yourself, peugeot charge couple hundred last time i checked to supply and fit, but then thats a brand new one.

EDIT:
£50 delivered btw Smile

And as Mrs Howey says it could be a new com unit.

Oh and yes they did, plexing changed late 2001, so some 51's have pre and some plexed, i'd say all if not nearly all 02 plates have plexed units

apparently it works wonders, got my dad read up on a forum yesterday while i was at work and someone had the same problems, used WD40 and it sorted it out. But they did say you have to do it every 12 months. the airbag warning lights gone off now we've sprayed so who knows

Rust?

Remember that when the airbag light is on, none of your airbags work.
*pretty sure thats right*

WD40 works wonders but it sounds like the plugs not making great contact.
Take the bag off and see if the plugs are clipped in fully.
