how do the gears feel on the 180 for most of you guys?
i drove a 138 for about a year and the gear changing was awesome. movement through the gears felt very clean and very smooth and without much effort.
now im on the 180 and my gears feels mushy totally different feel. gear change doesnt feel as clean and as sharp as the 138. even when its on neutral and i push it side to side, sure feels like i got some blob of crap under the gaiter. especially when i down shift to 2nd for turns into the small roads, sure needs some effort to feel and find to get it into 2nd gear.
my gear box, what do i have on hand guys?

180 gearbox is s*** because of the cable.
pretty sure imjeeve has lots of trouble with the cable during rallying.
rod linkage is all the way forward
and speaking of the gear change; have you got enough oil and what oil do you use?

I'm sure you'll get a lot of biased opinions, maybe you'll get used to it, i've got a gritiffs quickshift on my 138 and love the feel of it!

i love the feel of the 138.. the first owner she took bloody good care of the car..
maybe my 180 gear box is just showing signs of heavy use and abuse or just lack of love from the previous owner... unlike the wonderful lady who cared for the 138

Either has to be better than 1.4 model, the gear changes are so clunky its unreal, even when im in neutral at the lights i can feel it vibrate from the engine, and it wobbles a good half inch left and right, first has a little 'notch' i need to push past as well, what I wouldn't give for a better gear system
