encounterd another problem when i am driving i can be slowing down in any gear or speeding up and sometimes when i try to accelertae the revs drop and the engine tries to cut out. this also happend when i was idling in traffic the revs started dropping so i pressed the accelerator to keep them up but the car stalled..

any ideas on problems its a 1.4 lx 98

well just cleaned throttle body out yesterday failing that going to try the purge valve

contatcting peugeot garage tomorrow about this now im fed up every time i come to a stop as i put the clutch down the revs just die and the car cuts out only sometimes the revs die and the car goes to stall and they they are saved and idle at about 800

when you cleaned the throttle, did you take it off and clean the whole thing? also check around for air leaks, on the intake, on your exhaust, everywhere, I have this problem but have cured it with these steps

no leaks on the intake have to check the exhaust.
would a leak on the exhaust make the car cut out or the revs drop and rise?

could the fuel fillter cause my engine to surge and make the revs drop and make the car cut out?

Had this problem with mine a few months ago. My 206 is exactly the same year and spec as yours. Striped and cleaned the throttle body out and replace the Idle Air Control Valve and been fine since. Hope this helps mate
