Hi got new 207 seems to have used bit of coolant already some reason after like 3,000 miles few months old , its always been werid dirty water colour from brand new ,heard because it has something in it to protect it .

Dont need much but def not on max though.

Can you not mix differnet colours i got blue antifreeze left over my old 206 would it hurt to pour tiny bit in it ?

Thanks

Car not even a year old, still under manufacturers warranty & your already thinking about putting the wrong fluids in it Rolling Eyes

Just buy the correct fluid from a Peugeot / Citroen main dealer, its cheap enough anyway.

Is that normal to lose bit of coolant that quick , oil and brake fluid fine .

No wouldnt put wrong stuff in thats why im on here asking this rather than pouring it in anyway , saying would it matter if used same antifreeze i used on 206 suppose cant though wrong colour and sort maybe.

Is Citreon antifreeze exactly same as peugeot stuff , know that most or all parts are really as everything has a citeron badge next to the peugeot one on all parts and bits on car .?

my old 206's coolant are crystal clear when i drained them out last month. coolant level stay constant for over 3 yrs.

coolant is just coolant, they are all colourless. all those green/blue or pink coolant are just color additive which makes it easier for you to check your level and to change the coolant.

you should never mix different brand coolant even they are the same color; as you never know what rust inhibitor they have in the coolant.

top it up with de-ionized water

water is water.

i suggest de-ionized water is because i don't know whether the tap water in berkshire is hard or soft.

if the water is hard water there is a chance to block the coolant pipe overtime. of course it also depends on how much hard water you put in

=====

normal pre-mixed coolant you bought is 50:50 mixture; and in uk, even in winter, 20:80 mixture is more than enough to prevent the coolant to freeze.

so that means you got at least 30% "allowance"; normal engine coolant should be over 5L; so that means even you diluted the coolant with over a litre of normal water is will still be fine.

That's wrong. 99% of the time, the blue (MEG)/green is inorganic and the pink/orange (+OAT) is organic. If you mix them it will silt the coolant system.

Most of the old green coolants should not be mixed with ANY type of coolant, as it will probably silt anyway, but definately don't mix a non OAT with an OAT coolant, ie, blue and pink.

Don't argue the opinions of idiots.
They will bring you down to their level and win through experience.
