I have a 1.4 8v 206 and recently it feels as though there is something holding it back when i put my foot down, there is NO power at all compared to how it used to be. It is like this all the time, hot and cold.

Went for a drive last night and for a few seconds, it felt like it started juddering a bit as though it wanted to cut out, then went back to driving with no power again. It doesnt have a problem idling or starting, just doesnt have any power.

Does anyone know what could cause this?

Thanks

It's across all gears. Takes ages to get from 20-30 in 3rd compared to how it should be and REALLY struggles to accelerate at all from 40mph in 5th

More than likely, 5th gear @ 40mph is not going to shoot off anytime soon.

It honestly sounds like your changing too early and that you've got used to it. Did you buy it 2 weeks ago?

So did my golf when I bought it, 2 weeks later I bought a tuning box which revamped it again and now it's 'slow' again to me to. Is this your first car?

I knew I'd get some comments about that, I don't drive round in 5th at 40 all the time, it was a reference point, I could have said 3rd or 4th at 30 as it still feels just as powerless

I've had the car 10 months, and it was my 5th car. I know something is definitely playing up, just not sure what
