lookin at the pic i would say that one arrowed is the tensioner and the one under that is the roller.

fit a new one Thumb Up

wouldnt drive it incase it goes... mine did but was lucky enough for it to not destroy the engine...

remove the belt and if the tensioner is wobbly just replace the whole thing.

as Antknee said , change the belt while its off

not suggesting to get this one ( try local motor shop ) but its what you are looking for

Can this happen with the aux belt?

I thought it was the cam belt that casues damage if it goes.

But ye new belt too.

5 is the roller 6 is the tensioner , best bet is get the belt off and see which one has any play / wobble on it.

what would you is the difficulty of this job?

would i need any special tools to remove the tensioner and belt?

what's the difference between these belts and which one is shown on the picture posted above

Serpentine Belt

Auxiliary Belt
Ancillary Drive Belt

Timing Belt
Cam Belt


is any of this stuff covered in the Haynes Guide? will be getting one next week.

Its all covered in the Haynes manual, you're probably best waiting for it to arrive and have a good read through the relevant sections.
