If there is no voltage, then it is the BSI

But you should be checking it with the laptop, and not the fob really

I wouldn't get a new BSI anyway.

Buy Harry's BSI and get your IMMO coding copied over, will be a lot less

thats what i was thinking of doing mate, but i did speak to the man at bba remans (the site/co you gave me a link for) and he seems very helpfull and recons it would be around 150 to have my unit checked out and sorted, also comes with 2 yr warrenty on there work. he has said that it would not need recodeing or programed to the car as its the original unit unless it needs to be virginised (which he recons is rare).
so i may go down that route.
just trying to work out the best option for me atm as i could also do away with the factory central locking and alarm and fit a good quality aftermarket (toad/clifford) set up to the car which would also give me central locking, its a job to know whats best to do as evrything else works fine with the bsi.

yeah they say that aound 4 days is normal turn around time, so not to bad as i have others i can use.
the only thing that puts me off a bit is if they do have to virgin the unit i will then have to pay to get it reprogramed in. and then that will take me to the same sort of costs as it would to have a new alarm/central locking fitted and i can have that done in a morning right next door to where i work.
