My gti 140 is sounding a little tappety. So I am thinking of takin the engine out in the new year and replacing the cams/followers ect. Are there any mods I could do with the engine out? Wouldnt mind uprated cams. Obviously im goin to have to buy gasket, cambelt kit and maybe clutch so my budget isnt goin to be to high (to spend on uprated parts) the car is standard at the moment.

Wouldnt waste my money on them s**t electric superchargers? Think im just goin to strip the head and re-new cams if need be and re-seat valves. Never taken an engine out of a 206 before (have done on a 306 gti 6) any easy way of doin it? When I done the 306 I took front end off and lifted it out with gearbox.

I would suggest you leave the cams alone. If you want good power you need to think inlet and compression ratio

Im sticking with the standard cams, just goin to strip the head and rebuild it to cure the tap I have.

You can always send it to Charlie at CTM Performance Engineering. Tell him I sent you and he will work his magic on it for a fee

After seeing prices for cam kits im goin to keep the engine standard. To remove the head is it easier to remove the engine or take head off with it left in? Want to get it running sound for when I sell it. With this done should add abit more value to it.
