Ok started off with buying an 02 206 1.1 as a non runner thinking I was getting a good deal, it turned out it had Immobiliser probs and it wouldnt start,so I purchased an ECU/BSI key and reciever from a breakers £120 only to find they too were faulty so my next move was to buy a set from ebay from a reputable seller for another £130, hey presto car started (ps,this is all before I learned of LEE on here,)car ran really rough and stank of fuel ,turned out that ECU number 2 was just filling the cylinders full of petrol and overflowing into the sump, next the head gasket gave way, so I stripped down and fitted a new gasket, filters etc and car is now running good however I now have stop light flashing an airbag light on,no speedo or trip clock ,no central locking and no radio (just beeps every 2 secs)I replaced the speed sensor thinking it might be that but now I have been told that my original dash unit doesnt recognise the ECU/BSI unit and this is why Im getting no readings can anybody confirm this if this is the case?thanks,Bill.

Get a code reader on it see what faults you have. I have the highlighted the same problems I have after changing my ECU and BSI.
Does the central locking not work at all? Are you using the right key to unlock it? Get a multi-meter on it and test for power at the plugs and on the fuse.
See if power is coming down your live wires on the radio. You have a Permanent red live and live with BSI earth which is a yellow wire.

thanks for the reply's guys, sorry should have mentioned the radio does come on and play just beeps every 2-3 sec's I know it is coded to the car as Lee told me this but dont know if the same applys to the speedo and trip meter, I did read the trouble codes with the snap-on Ethos and it came up with p0135 02 sensor heated circuit frnt & p0532 air conditioning pressure which my car doesnt have?? twice its came up with these and been cleared and the central locking does work with its original key but not with the remote .thanks,Bill.

You NEED Peugeot Planet to reconfigure the BSI unit.
Why do people keep buying these second hand BSI units
Brand new virgin ones are cheap enough from Peugeot.

thanks for the help guys, well the reason I didnt buy a new virgin BSI unit from the dealer was because I didnt know if it was the BSI the ECU the reciever the chip or anything else for that matter but I suppose hindsight is a great thing isnt it? incidently how much is a brand new virgin unit and is it just plug and play or do I still have to have it programmed up to my car?and what is the likely cost of having it all done?thanks,Bill.

A new virgin unit would need Peugeot Planet to code it, would need the VIN number to look up part number & the price on Peugeot Service box.
If you still have the original factory fitted BSI & engine ecu I would get in touch with BBA first & see if they can test / repair them for you.

ok thanks for the heads up on that mrBSI, but Lee has said he could probz re programme the data from my old ECU/BSI onto the one I have now but I just wanted someone to confirm the Speedo/trip meter was also part of my existing ECU/BSI swap over, but tbh I dont think I will be spending anymore £££'s on the wee car in the near future but thanks for your info all the same ,Bill.
