Are all MAF sensors the same?
I expect there to be a difference RE. Petrol & Diesel (Do diesels even have a MAF sensor?) but in the petrol trim are they the same for each engine size or is there a different MAF sensor for each engine?
Yes i am a noob Sad

GTI has a MAP sensor.

MAP sensors for the TU range of engines are different, I bought one from eBay and it a 3 pin plug instead of a 4 pin plug, sent it back and got the correct one though (the sellers item description was incorrect). If you need a new one check the part number on the old one before you buy and I did a soft BSI reset after I'd fitted the new one.

Does each engine size have a different MAF/MAP with a different part number? Also where abouts is it in the engine bay? Near your airbox?

MAF is on the airbox, MAP is usually on the intake

The engine you have will be helpful Confused

Lmao sorry, 1.4 8v.
Whats the difference between MAF and MAP unless they perform the same function on a different engine?
