Hi iv got a 1999 gti 137 iv noticed that inside the cam pulley closest to the bulk head there is a metal insert sat inside that can be removed could someone tell me what its for?

No its like a metal disc it sits perfectly inside the
Pulley but its not bolted or nothing u can just take it out lol i thought i may act as a weight or something i dont no =\

It could be a balance weight so it runs true, just like a wheel weight. Strange how its not fixed though.
