hi iv got a 1999 137, what is is is there is a horrible wining noise coming from my gti,iv found out its the air con pump iv tried wd 40 n that but also noticed the center piece doesnt spin either does the air con system need to have charge?

mine was making a noise like this intermittently and sometimes would work, then make that noise and stop working again. got it recharged, found out it only had 1% charge left in it. lucky got it checked as another place previously wanted me to get a new control unit, motor and fan
